Carpet Glue Removal
The Story: 5,000 sq/ft industrial lease space. When the owner took possession, unknown to him, the defaulted tenant had glued down a cheap red carpet with lots of glue and no backer on the carpet. As expected, the owner had no budget to correct the floor. After two and a half days of cutting carpet in 4 inch strips, pulling and tugging, by hand, the carpet was gone. What was left: thick and gummy glue. With 4-inch hand scrappers and harsh solvent based chemicals, and a lot of odor, two full-days later and two laborers, they had removed only 200 sq/ft of glue.
